Shared joy is a double joy; shared sorrow is half a sorrow. (Swedish proverb) |
Only your real friends will tell you when your face is dirty.

Your friend is that man who knows all about you, and still
likes you. (Elbert Hubbard) |
You can always tell a real friend; when you've made a fool of
yourself he doesn't feel you've done a permanent job. (Laurence J. Peter) |
Friends are family you choose for yourself. |
3rd April, 2010 The oranges have been my definite favourite recently. They are sweet, juicy and very satisfying. I enjoyed some grapes, watermelon and bananas too, but oranges rule for now. I thought it would be useful for me to collect in one place all the reasons I choose to eat the way I do. In February I decided to question my decision of being all-raw fruit lover, I decided to experiment and ponder the questions on veganism, fruitarianism and raw foodism. Due to my other recent realizations, it became very important for me not to fall into a pattern of brainwashed, fanatical, cult-like behaviours. I was a little concerned that it could have happenned for me in the area of raw foodism as well, which is one of the reasons I decided to go solo in this path, in order to cut myself away from peer pressure so strongly present in this movement. The conclusions? My body has became very sensitive to the diet. Although, I guess it depends on how you look at it. I think that most people just get used to feeling bad on daily basis, blaming things on an old age, unaware of the fact that it is their lifestyle that is the true cause. But once you get a taste of how it feels on this diet, like I did, then even a small portion of the past can taste really yuck. So, although I cannot say I completely understand the nutritional veganism from the biological perspective, as the research on human evolution is far from complete, I can feel that my body treats non-vegan foods as if they were foreign objects not belonging to it at all. Grains, I never thought of myself as grain intolerant, and I definitely was never diagnosed as allergic to gluten, but my body reaction to grains is so strong (puffy eyes, runny nose etc) that it seems to me that all humans have that intolerance, but perhaps not all are aware of it. In my view reumathoid diseases seem to be connected with grain-eating, and I definitely could feel in my joints a significant unease in relation to grains. If you are a singer and the quality of your voice is dear to you, then you will be interested to hear my observations that the fruit-based diet is hydrating and elevating the voice at a level incomparable to any other diet. In fact, the whole body operates on a completely different level, hydration resulting in a glowing, clear and firm skin, and amazing physical stamina. I love belly dancing and I love swimming! I try to get to the pool every second day, or 3 days a week at minimum, doing my 1km. Belly dancing is an art and a heart-driven experience. I love it so much. I am a beginner, and I dream of learning more and more and more. In March I performed for the first time, this was scary, but I made my first step and I am so happy about it. Belly dancing is such a Goddess experience to me. I enjoy immensly dancing with other Goddesses too! :))) The
reasons:
16th April, 2010 I really like this entry in Raw Model's blog: http://rawmodelcom.blogspot.com/2009/06/walking-away-from-veganism.html I have not been following his blog, but rather bumped into it accidentally when a thread criticizing him on one forum caught my attention. Strangely perhaps, a lot of what he says makes sense to me ha ha! I still am a total fruitlover, but the integrity, away from dogma, is so important to me. I like his attitude. One of the most beautiful souls in the raw arena to me is Anne Osborne, the fruitbatanne: http://www.fruitgod.com/ I wish I could hang around with her, she is just gorgeous, an absolutely adorable person. Her book is like ambrosia to my soul. 17th April, 2010 Is there a proof that raw veganism is the best diet on Earth? No. Proofs exist only in rigorous sciences, maths and physics that is. There is a lot of compelling evidence that raw, plant-based diet has incredible health and beauty benefits, for sure, but is there a compelling evidence for going all the way? I do not know. I think that technically, eating small insects attached to the unwashed fruit, as humans would have likely done in our evolutionary past, is not veganism. I doubt scientists will ever settle this, but so what. I think that one should follow their heart, there is no need for proofs. Choose to live your life the way it feels right for you, live your dreams. And let others live their own. Do not put others down. Do not think of yourself as better than others. We are equal, we are connected, we are all learning, no one has it all. There is far more to life than the diet. Do not make a big deal out of what you put in your mouth. But be careful with the words that come out of it. You create your reality with those words. Today I went to a Tahitian dance workshop. The energy of it was amazing. Beautiful music, swaying movements of the body, the hips, so sensual, so exciting and calming simultaneously, like a meditation really. Dancing with other women is what I treasure.... 18th April, 2010 Today in my office a box of figs, a basket of oranges, a basket of bananas, a bowl full of red delicious and another basket of red apples I bought at the market yesterday. I eat whenever I want, whatever I want. Busy with my research today. |
